Who we are
Since, in 1976, Editrice Kurtis first stepped into
the medical-scientific publishing world, the company has always worked
with the most prominent and qualified scientists and opinion leaders,
and, thanks to the high quality of its publications, has become a well
regarded and respected source of medical information.
In 1978, the company starts the publication of the Journal of
Endocrinological Investigation, official journal of the Italian
Society of Endocrinology, which currently includes clinical and experimental
papers in the field of endocrinology and related areas.
In the late ’80s, Editrice Kurtis comes out with Aging Clinical
and Experimental Research, a journal offering a multidisciplinary
debate in the areas of gerontology and geriatrics.
Nearly all publications by Editrice Kurtis are indexed in the major scientific
literature databases and have been recognized as having “high cultural
value” by the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage.
In addition, papers are thoroughly reviewed by major experts in the fields,
so to ensure constant high quality of contents.
Even though Editrice Kurtis publishes journals mainly targeted on medical
specialists, it has also decided to look at general practitioners and
general medicine physicians through Aggiornamento Medico,
a highly appreciated publication covering internal medicine, surgery
issues as well as social medicine and other areas.
More recent publications are Eating and Weight Disorders,
a journal standing out as a lively international forum on eating disorders
obesity and the relations between these two areas, and l’Endocrinologo,
official Italian journal of the Italian Society of Endocrinology, covering
endocrinology and metabolic diseases.
il Cardiologo, structured in monothematic issues, followed in
2001 and Annali dell’Istituto Superiore di Sanità in 2006, while
the Journal of Sports Traumatology (started in the early ’80s)
was resumed in 2010 with a new Editorial Board and a new lay-out.
In recent years, Editrice Kurtis has also increased its book production
and has explored new markets to better meet the needs of today’s medical
community.
